Prayer Requests and Praises from e-Mails and the Prayer/Praise Book
Please enter the date, and Prayer Requests and Praises from e-mails, and from the Prayer/Praise Book at The Rock MCC church worship services, or who may come into the church during the week to add items to the Book. This way they all will be in one place for all to view, and to pray for, and rejoice with the folks making them. E-mails get lost, or not read closely, and things in the Prayer/Praise Book are not known to all who need them, or may be forgotten later on in the week if they are not written down for reference. This new way will aid in our prayer life, to remember the ones who need our help and prayer, and to rejoice with those who give praise to God.

The safety and human rights of LGBT people in the Eastern European nation of Moldova are under threat right now. (more info>MCC church at >Click_here)
The government of Moldova is threatening to arrest Rev. Elder Diane Fisher and Eastern European LGBT activist Florin Buhuceanu if they hold worship services for the LGBT
community this weekend.
And they are refusing to provide police protection, despite numerous death threats made against Diane and Florin and the LGBT community there.
The government is also refusing police protection for this weekend's LGBT Pride March in Moldova's capital city of Chisinau, where members of the International
Lesbian and Gay Association of Europe and Romania's human rights organization, ACCEPT, are also gathered. All legal procedures were followed to obtain the appropriate
permits, and despite early promises, the mayor of Chisinau has withdrawn approval for the march permits.
At last report, the government will allow a maximum of 50 LGBT people and their supporters to march -- but will allow an unlimited number of anti-gay protestors
to gather -- all without police protection.
Moldova's government urgently needs to hear -- NOW! -- from people of goodwill around the globe!
AN MCC PRAYER ALERT: Jamaica (more info>MCC church at >Click_here)
This weekend, as we celebrate Pentecost and "the mighty deeds of God" made known in ways understood by all God's children, an MCC team is in Jamaica. Members of the team
are Rev. Robert Griffin, Rev. Pat Bumgardner, and Ken Reeves, former mayor of Cambridge, Massachusetts and a current member of the city council.
This is a critical time in the movement for liberation and justice in Jamaica. In many ways it is the "Stonewall" moment in that nation. Many of our members there are
garnering their strength and courage to come out as people who believe in the dignity and value and worth of all God's children, including those in the LGBT community.
On Sunday, May 11th, the
MCC Team will join with
MCCers and supporters from around the island to celebrate the
Good News of God's love for all people.
Please join with us in spirit this weekend and pray for the mighty work that God is seeking to do in Jamaica right now.
-
Celebrate Communion on Pentecost Sunday in memory of all our brothers and sisters lost to violence in Jamaica.
-
Pray for the Spirit of God to fall afresh on all of us, so that violence and hatred may end, and love and peace prevail.
-
Pray for our team and for all of our family in Jamaica. Pray that we be able to act justly and to love tenderly and to walk humbly with God, which is all Scripture says is asked of us.
